Bernadette Peters
Bernadette (nee Lazzara) Peters is an American singer and actress. In her career, which spans more than six decades, she's been a part of musical theatre, television and film, performed in concert performances as a solo artist and released recordings. She is an acclaimed Broadway actor, having earned seven nominations for Tony Awards, winning two (plus an honorary award) as well as nine Drama Desk Award nominations, which she won three. Grammy Awards were won for four of her Broadway roles.
Peters is widely regarded as the most well-known interpreter of the works written by Stephen Sondheim. Her roles on Broadway include Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (84), Song and Dance (1985), Into the Woods with George (87), The Goodbye Girl(93), Annie Get Your Gun 1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2009), Follies (2011) and Hello, Dolly (2018).
